Ian Gilchrist

Senior Pastor

Pastor Ian Gilchrist

I grew up in Middle Tennessee, the “buckle of the Bible belt,” but Church wasn’t a normal part of my life until I had an encounter with Jesus at age 23 that changed me forever...

In that moment, I left behind my prodigal life and fell in love with Jesus and His Church. I immediately felt called into full-time ministry and began working on my undergrad from Southeastern Bible College, followed by getting my master’s degree in Christian Theology and Ministry Leadership from Richmont Graduate University.

Early in my walk with Jesus Christ, I immersed myself in the local Church, leading to over a decade of working in a full-time youth teaching position. It was there that I saw God grow a vibrant middle school ministry and at the same time, birth within me the burden of seeing the body of Christ walk freely in their identity– the burn that remains my ministerial heartbeat to this day. I have a unique passion for seeing the Church come together under the truth of her identity in Christ and grow in a powerful way unlike anything the world has seen.

I married my beautiful wife, Amanda, in 2009, and together we have four incredible kids. In January 2019, Amanda and I moved our family to Fairview obeying God’s call to plant a church. Over the past several years, we have seen God move time and time again, as He continues to grow and bless the body of believers at One Church Home.

If God is calling you to our church family, we hope you’ll join us and be part of what He is doing in our midst.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, lift His countenance toward you, make His face shine upon you, and give you peace!

Let me start by saying I love the local church and believe it's the light of the world. I have seen God repeatedly show up by His Spirit and move through His Church to impact and love its neighbors and then people all over the world for the glory of God. Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, I was brought up in the local church. At a summer camp in 6th grade, I had an encounter with Jesus that I'll never forget, and it was then that He called me to pursue a life in Church Ministry. Following my freshman year of college, I was offered my first internship in a church which has now evolved into 26 years of ministry.

I married my wife, Faith, in 2001, and together, we have served in various church ministry roles, including three church plants and various para-church ministry opportunities. Since 2015, we have loved and ministered to the next generation, and in late 2021, we started 'The Collective,' a nonprofit geared towards young adult discipleship. In February of 2022, I joined the staff of OCH. It's an honor to help lead and support this team as we serve the family of OCH and beyond. Faith also joined the OCH team as Worship Director in 2023, and we are grateful that God would allow us to be part of what He is doing here at this great church!

Faith and I have lived in Middle Tennessee since 2011 and love it here in the South. In leisure, I love to BBQ low and slow, and together, we visit Mexico as often as possible and spend time with our friends, family, and our Goldendoodle, Benteley.

OUR PASTORS

Pastor Steve Berger

Pastor Steve Berger

Pastor Emeritus

Pastor Steve Berger

When God radically saved me at age 18, He gave me a singular focus: Eternity. Since that time, I’ve done my best to live out His command to prepare myself, my family, my church, and everyone He put in my path to live forever with Jesus.

My calling has taken the forms of planting and pastoring a church in Southern California for four years, then one in Tennessee for 26 years along with serving in other ministries. Some of those ministries include Beyond Our Walls Coalition, Promise Keepers (Executive and Pastoral Board), and The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (board member).

In 2021, I founded Ambassador Services International (ASI), a 501(c)(3) ministry and serve as its president. ASI disciples government leaders, educates the Church to navigate cultural chaos biblically and boldly, and rescues Christians around the world whose governments have placed a target on their backs because of their stand for Christ.

Sarah, my beautiful wife (and partner in ministry), and I married young. We have three children here and one who has gone before us into Eternity. We have five grandchildren.

We look forward to meeting you and your family. We look forward to working alongside you in fellowship, discipleship and in bringing others to a saving knowledge of Jesus, as together, we travel this earthly road toward Eternity.

I moved from Arnold, Missouri, to Nashville in 1995 to pursue a career in the music industry. After meeting my best friend Heather, we fell in love and were married in 1997. We have been blessed with two amazing daughters, Sydni and Jordan, who love Jesus and have become adults too quickly. In 2009, we purchased some land and began making Fairview our hometown.

In 2013, I received my Master of Education and was hired to create and develop a theatre program at Fairview Middle School. For the next seven years, I taught the arts, directed award-winning performances while acting professionally, and also received my Doctorate of Education from Lipscomb University.

In May 2020, I joined OCH as an Associate Pastor beside Pastor Ian. Since then, my responsibilities have evolved, and I am now serving as the Executive Pastor of Congregational Care and Outreach. Additionally, I am pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry at Richmont University. It has been my honor to walk alongside OCH in each new step of this journey.

I’m a Southerner through and through. My family helped settle Mississippi before it was even a state, and we still have a family farm there. Growing up southern, you learn how to cook good food, create good memories and tell good stories. I believe I’ve mastered all three.

I had the opportunity to move to Tennessee back in 1991 when Mayor Bredesen asked me to lend my expertise in environmental efforts. Already the Vice President of a large engineering firm, I spent the next three years as a consultant to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville. But the Lord had other plans, and He called me into the ministry when I was 42, and I haven’t looked back since. In 2001 I became the Executive Pastor at Bellevue Community Church, which later became Hope Park.

I married my high school girlfriend, Cathy, and after 23 years of marriage, she graduated to heaven after a three-year fight with cancer. During that time of grieving, I never felt abandoned by God and knew that He had more in store for me. In 2007 I met and fell in love with my wife, Amanda Cecconi, and we married in 2008. We have three wonderful children.

Connecting people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the most challenging and fulfilling aspects of my time as a Pastor. It brings me so much joy to help people discover their full potential through hosting, joining a Home Group, serving the community, or even going on a mission trip to a third-world country. It truly is my sweet spot, and I’m happy to be a part of what God is doing at OCH!
